What is the meaning of life? That is a profound question.
The answer we hold, can drag us down deeper into, or lift us out of our darkest moments.
But, what do we mean when we say "meaning?"
One could say that "meaning" refers to the reason, purpose, or even the order of life,
and the intent of the question would remain the same.
To think of it another way, one might ask:
What is the pattern of life that one is meant to follow?
Pattern! Now that, I could illustrate!
The pattern would be beautiful. Like the most perfectly orchestrated symphony,
echoing with brilliant hues of rainbow-colored musical light.
Each color would evoke profound feelings of inexpressible joy, wonder, wisdom, and love.
It would be so overwhelming, that to experience the fullness of the beautiful sound would be to risk death.
This is why the music must be tempered, only allowing one to step deeper into its
resonating warmth when they are ready.
The deeper one goes, the more beautiful the harmony and the purer the experience, drowning out the egotistical noise of self-exaltation. It would bring one to their knees, crying to be held by the all
encompassing splendor of this majestic voice– which could only be described as the Word of God.
We need to teach families that home should be the "get away." A sacred space of the love, joy, peace, and all other beautiful "colors" of God's glory that we are capable of expressing through the power of the Spirit. Home should be the real "happiest place on earth," as it is "animated" by the light of Christ– the living Word.
